BR-2 Dome Oven Recipe - Bone-in Rib Roast

A Bone-in Rib Roast will take approximately 17-24 mins per pound at
375 to 400 degrees F for a total of 1 hour 42 min to 2 hours 4 mins in the BR-2 Dome This BR-2 BBQ recipe is from Chef Joey. So easy and quick compared to conventional methods.  Now available to you to try with your BR-2 Dome Oven & Roaster!

Oven compared to 2 hours 18 min - 3 hours in a conventional oven. USDA guidelines state that the internal temperature should be 145 degrees F before allowing to rest for 3-5 minutes.

There are many types of spices to prepare a Bone-in Rib Roast. The basic preparation method is below:

Ingredients 

4-6lb Rib Roast, Bone-in
3 or 4 cloves of garlic (thinly sliced)
To Taste - Coarse Salt & Pepper

Directions

1. Preheat BR-2 Dome Oven & Roaster to 450 degrees F. You will want to roast hot to seal in the juices. This is similar to searing meats.
2. Make small slits in the meat with the tip of a small knife; insert the garlic slivers. Rub the meat with salt and pepper. Roast on the Reversible Rack at 450 degrees F for 25 minutes.
3. Reduce BR-2 temperature to 400 degrees F and roast for additional 16 minutes per pound (about 1 1/2 hours), or until a meat thermometer reaches an internal temperature of 135°F to 140°F for a medium-rare center. Let rest for Let rest for 15 minutes before carving. Please note that the meat will continue to cook for a few minutes after removal from BR-2 Dome Oven & Roaster.
